Bilingual French and English activities

Your child is introduced to English from their very earliest years.

At “circle time”, for example, the children all gather in a circle.

A greeting in French and English is followed by nursery rhymes in both languages.

MONTESSORI ACTIVITIES

Its main philosophy is to focus on discovery rather than learning.

These activities encourage personal exploration, independence and the awakening of curiosity from a very early age, using the 5 senses. Eventually, all of this is made to shape confident and responsible adults.

GEOMETRIC SHAPES

Children over 2 have their own “art and book”.
They use suggested shapes to try to fill in the empty spaces or draw the outlines.

This is the beginning of learning how to write, which involves coordination as well as precision in the fingers’ movements.

STAIRS

With this Montessori game, children try to create a series of steps to form a stair, horizontally from left to right.

It represents a first mathematical approach for children over 2 years.

PUZZLES

The Montessori puzzles are always associated with nature as they offer flowers, animals and trees forms. Children show an interest in these puzzles from the age of 2. They help them to improve their fine motor skills, their sense of observation and their patience, while expanding their vocabulary.

TOWER

The tower is composed of 10 cubes of different sizes and weights.

It represents an introduction to geometry and logic. The activity enables children to develop their concentration and their judgment skills.

DRESSING FRAMES

One of the Maria Montessori’s principles is “Help me to do it all by myself”

By using these teaching tools made up of buttons, knots, Velcro, press-studs, pulls, zips… children explore, practice, and end up learning to dress themselves.

CYLINDERS

These wooden cylinders are made up of 10 pieces of various heights and diameters.

Children aged over 2 years develop their concentration, expand their vocabulary (“thicker”, etc.), and start to learn how to hold a pencil.

RECEPTION AREA

The reception area serves as a smooth home-nursery transition.

The bunny seats enable parents and children to take their time.

A reassuring “ritual” is made where children have their own storage for their shoes and outdoor clothes.

ACTIVITY ROOM

This is a room dedicated to non-physical activities.

This is a room where children can play with self-service toys and games, with Montessori materials with the help of the childminders, have “circle time” moments, a reading corner… as well as table and chairs for artistic and sensory activities.

BEDROOM

The micro-nursery has two rooms for young and older children to nap in.

These moments of relaxation are well appreciated by children, whether it is a full nap or merely a moment of calm and imagination.

CHANGING AREA

The micro-nursery’s toilets, next to the changing room, are suitable for children.

In this room, children get early hygiene and cleanliness habits. Visual hand washing instructions are displayed above the sink suited for the little ones.

OUTDOOR COURTYARD

The outdoor play area complements the function of the motor room, weather permitting. In addition to indoor materials, it offers some with wheels.

The outdoor play area is also a place for gardening, where children are glad to see the fruit of their efforts coming to life.

KITCHEN

The micro-nursery’s kitchen enables childminders to cook the meals of the day.

All is made with fresh products, especially fresh fruits and vegetables. The older children can in some occasions help prepare the meal.
